I’m random, I know. Did you know that the “post title” could possibly be the number one reason I don’t post more? I hate finding a title.

Anyway, here is some of whats been going on ’round here:

I started the 365 project again…only this year is a leap year, so it is a 366 project. I decided to do it again after watching a slideshow of my last 365. SO many little mundane things happened that wouldn’t have been recorded otherwise and that I would have lost memory of. This year is a fun year to do it, too!

We finally had the Pajamas+Pancakes birthday party for Evie! The complete write up will be over on the kojo blog soon.

Last I posted, Kead wasn’t doing too great. She is still having the hardest time of the three girls, but it is definitely getting better! She is going to an international school now where she is thriving (and learning to speak with a British vocab and accent…so funny). She is also loving ballet and asks everyday when it is ballet day. Glad to see her little smile more these days. Man, she is beautiful.

So, our town is not little in size (about 80,000, I think?) But it is seriously lacking in amenities, so we usually drive either to a bigger city in Oman or to Dubai to do our shopping. Since it is about a 2 hour drive both ways we always try to pair it with some fun in the Big City. This time we  went to a children’s musuem:

Did we tell you that two friends from Lubbock moved here? Kevin and Andrew are going to language school and live in an apartment next door to us! They are wonderful with the girls and troopers for driving 2 hours to join us at a children’s museum. (Or it could be that our town is insanely boring…) We love them.

Part of the fun of going to the museum was playing at the playground. It was nice to just sit on grass and watch the three crazies play.

Ok- that’s all that is going on. Lots of mundane and I am happy to say we are slowly getting into (dare I say it?) a routine. “Routine” has not described our life in so long that I welcome it with open arms! I am hoping that this little blog can become part of the routine as well so that it is more than a once a month occurrence.

Missing you all! Write a comment or e-mail and let us know you’re still there!

Hi friends! How’s it going? We are doing pretty good, just enjoying the longer days and trying to not complain about the wind. فريق kaa gent I actually have some “real” posts in the works…but as I was editing pictures I saw this one and thought I would pass some recommendations on to you:

Per Kelli, Sara, and Jen’s recommendation I started reading this book. So far, it’s fabulous. I’ll probably write more about it and my complaining heart later…but you should go buy it.

Per Keje’s recommendation this is my new Starbucks Drink: Trenta Iced Black Tea with coconut and no water (makes the tea stronger). TRY THIS DRINK TODAY. I know…tea with coconut doesn’t sound great. I was skeptical at first but am so happy for my Starbucks-Partner sister and her drink recommendation. Trust me, it is amazing. Kirst and I might have even passed on dinner and eaten cereal a couple nights in a row so that we could use our food budget to buy this drink. Definitely worth packing the kids in the car and making the trip to The Bucks. (…and coming from me that’s saying a lot!)

Hope you are all doing fabulous.

Thing have been crazy around here. . . good, but crazy. We are thankful for the crazy season and loving our little family of five! Here is a smattering of things that have happened in the last couple months.

A visit from keje and easton was so so good. استراتيجية الروليت

A quick trip to Dallas was refreshing and the girls had so.much.fun. staying with Granny and Pops for a couple days while we went to Austin.

Evie is doing great! She is getting chunkier, starting to smile and coo. . . oh yeah and sleeping 8 hours at night! Amen for that!

Other than that we are just taking life one day at a time. العاب قمار حقيقية Tea parties in the backyard, learning to write names, LOTS of posing for the camera (the girls are great subjects for the 365) and taking the few less crazy moments to breath and enjoy life as things wind up in the LBK… I can’t believe we only have a few months left!

After 3 years on the trusty ol’ “lilremke” blog we have moved! We wanted something with our own domain name that we could make our own and use as a tool for e-mail, blogging, and general updating for our move overseas- so here we are at theremkes.com! Be patient with me as I struggle through learning HTML code, and try to make the site functional for us. Also, there will be some password protected pages, so if you are interested in viewing those please e-mail me at jordan@theremkes.com.

Ok- so onto the post!

This week I am 37 weeks pregnant: i.e. full term! Evie weighed in at 5.7 pounds at our ultra-sound this week, and we are clear for labor (meaning if I go into labor they won’t stop it…)

The last couple weeks of a pregnancy is funny. I am still nesting like crazy- but have kind of ran out of big projects (which is good, Drew is so thankful to have our house back in order) the house still needs cleaned, but with such a large belly and little amounts of sleep, the energy doesn’t much match the desire to get things done.

Also, I am trying really really hard to enjoy these days with my girls before things get crazy…but am having such a hard time waiting. I want the next stage to start now, I want to meet our baby girl, I want to not be sleeping because of an actual baby (not just because I am uncomfortable and have to pee.) and I want labor to be behind us!  I have to remind myself constantly to just enjoy each day I get to love on my daughters and enjoy this moment in our life.

So, we are in holding pattern. Waiting to meet Evie and trying to prepare as much as possible but also trying to enjoy this “calm” before the storm. (Our house is never really calm with a 2 and 3 year old…but calmer than it will be!) Pray for us!

I will leave you  some of my favorites of life right now:
cooking with the girls is always an adventure

One of Kead’s favorite things to do with Drew these days is play Wii. He loves it.

I love this one of Kead. It took her 45 minutes to join her friends at this birthday party and play in the foam pit. She is not much of a risk taker in these things…

Sayla, on the other hand, had a blast jumping and being thrown around and swinging from the rings. Such different girls!

…and one last one, at the same party. This is what being 3 is all about! :)

Well, Thanks for stopping by- make sure to update your google reader to our new site!
